MR. MICHEAL OLUKAYODE ADEBAYO
Mr. Michael Olukayode Adebayo was born October 10, 1954 in Osi Ekiti, Kwara State. He had his Primary education at the Osi community Primary School from 1959 – 1966 and thereafter proceeded to Government Secondary School Omu-Aran between 1967 and 1971 before his tertiary education at the University of Ife (now O.A.U) where he graduated with a Bachelors of Science degree in Chemistry in 1977. He was privileged to attend in July 1983 a short course on Atomic Absorption Instrumentation techniques in Zug, Switzerland and another short course in the Obafemi Awolowo University Ile-Ife on Environmental Pollution.
After his National Youth Service Corps programme he taught chemistry and mathematics at Titcombe College Egbe Kwara State before joining the Health Department of the Federal Capital Development Authority in 1979 as a Chemist/Analyst II and later on a substantive Chemist/Analyst where his work entailed among others solid waste management, pollution monitoring of air, land and rivers/streams and other sources with FCT.
He progressed from his position to principal scientific officer and became Head of quality control unit at Usman Dam Water Works in 1989. He still had this same schedule as an Assistant Chief Scientific Officer. Between 1990 and 1994 he was the Chief Scientific Officer in the then FCT Water Resources Agency where he was in charge of quality control, pollution research and statistics, budget/planning management, monitoring, hydrometeorology/geology.
In 1994 he was elevated to the position of Head of Department, Planning and Operations where he supervises all the operational works as well as staff management.
